Why Get Certified?

Professional credentials assure customers, professional associations, and consulting veterinary staff that they are working with people who are knowledgeable and current in basic animal care and husbandry.

How PIJAC’s Certification Works

Upon completion of the application, you will receive the certification manual. Each certification manual contains quizzes at the end of each chapter and a final exam. Once your coursework is completed successfully, you will receive your completion certificate and wallet card designating you as a PIJAC Certified Specialist. Certifications must be renewed every three years.

The Programs

Certified Avian Specialist (CAS)

This all-in-one program can be completed at home. The CAS manual has 11 chapters, a quiz at the end of each chapter, and a final exam. Download Application.

Certified Canine Specialist (CCS)

Certified Feline Specialist (CFS)

Certified Freshwater Fish Specialist (CFFS)

Certified Reptile Specialist (CRS)

Certified Small Animal Specialist (CSAS)

Recertification

Certification is required every three years. To obtain recertification in any of the above specialties, please contact our Director of Member Services.
