UPDATE: Proposal for an ordinance was adopted at the June 9th meeting of the San Francisco Animal Control & Welfare Commission. Proposal, and possible language, will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for future action.

UPDATE: A rulemaking to add a new section to state Code, requiring a destination "physical address" be presented on transportation documents when importing animals into the state, was adopted on January 3, 2012 (effective February 3, 2012).
